In a report released by Pike Research, 75% of Americans surveyed said they are interested in Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing programs. PACE is a financing arrangement run by a municipality where energy retrofits are paid through an annual special tax on the homeowner’s property tax bill, typically repaid over 15 or 20 years. 63% of those polled were most interested in using this type of financing for solar panels or tankless water heaters.

A windmill produces 140 Watts of energy steadily for 3 hours. This energy is used to pump water
from a pond to a water tank 50 m above the ground. If the pump efficiency is 80%, how much
water in liters would have been lifted at the end of 3 hours?

First of all, 140 Watts is not *energy* it is power. But, we need to calculate the energy generated by the windmill. THat is: 140 Watts * time, which is 3hours, which is 10800 seconds, for a total of 140 * 10800 = 1.512 MegaJoules

Multiply that by 80% to get the pump power: 1.21 MJ

The 2nd half:
Water has a mass of 1 kg/liter

Work = force * distance (basic formula — memorize it)
Force = mass * acceleration (basic formula — memorize it)
