Is there any kind of government funding for getting solar panels for my home?
They're so expensive, but alot better for the environment.
This depends 100% on the state that you live in. Several states are providing generous subsidies that cover large portions of the cost to install solar energy, or any other renewable energy projects to your home or business. California is the leader in this area but many other western states have good programs also. Check out this site…

No government funding, but you can take a tax exemption for any enrgy improvements made to your home.

The best thing to do is to ask your local energy provider. They are the most likely ones to give rebates. They usually will take care of the installation (or recommend someone) and when you have energy you're not using it goes back to the energy company and you'll get credit. They usually provide payment methods that are pretty affordable.

Sometimes communities have home improvement grants you can get. Some are for lower income households. Some have stipulations like; continue occupying them home for the next 10 years. I would check with the city offices in your community.
